Qatar:Qatar Airways will be forced to seek government support amid fears of running out of cash

"The company will be forced, sooner or later, to seek support from the government," Reuters news agency quoted Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al-Baker as saying, warning of imminent running out of cash.

In a phone call to the agency, Al-Baker said: "We have enough cash for a very short period."

Several countries have offered to provide aid to airlines after the flights were interrupted due to the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, including the United States, which has offered aid of $ 58 billion.

Al-Baker stated that the company, which is owned by the government, received requests from several governments not to stop operating flights, noting that "it will continue to operate flights as long as there is a need to return travelers to their home countries, and as long as the airspace is open."

Qatar Airways is among the few international airlines that have not stopped completely from operating passenger flights, after the Corona virus hit the demand for travel in a killing.

Qatar Airways operates flights to Europe, Asia and Australia to return stranded travelers to their home countries, after closing the border and suspending flights in many countries to reduce the spread of the Corona pandemic.
