Emirates & Qatar Latest Dispute Due To Cronavirus 30-03-2020

The dispute between Qatar and the Gulf states returned to the fore, this time from the Emirates Gate, as Twitter witnessed a skirmish between the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash and the director of the media office in the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi, because of solidarity with Iran in light of the crisis that Passed by the Islamic Republic due to the Corona virus (Covid 19).

The controversy began when Emirati Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash tweeted: "Distinguishing between human attitudes and the political position is a lofty civilizational and moral characteristic. Human solidarity between peoples is firm and the political dispute is transit, no matter how long it extends. Them and our proud country. "

This Tweet comes after the United Arab Emirates sent on Monday two aid planes carrying medical supplies and relief equipment to Iran to support them in the face of the emerging Corona virus.

The two planes, which took off from the capital Abu Dhabi, carried more than 32 tons of supplies, including boxes of gloves, surgical masks and protective equipment.

This was not the first time that the UAE had sent aid to Iran. On the third of March this year, the Emirates sent to Iran a plane that carried 7.5 tons of medical supplies in cooperation with the World Health Organization.

The tweet came after a communication between UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif, in which the first expressed his country's sympathy and solidarity with the Iranian people and government in combating the Corona virus.

This is what prompted the director of the media office in the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Rumaihi, to respond to Anwar Gargash, who previously criticized the Qatari-Iranian relations.

Al-Rumaihi commented, “Your humanity is taught,” including a previous tweet of Gargash in which he said: “I believe that the Qatari government did not accurately calculate the damages of Sheikh Tamim and his conversation with the Iranian president on local and Gulf public opinion, and the problematic when the stubbornness and stubbornness is a personal and not a national stance.”

The sparring turned from official to popular.

Many Emiratis considered standing with the Iranian people "a duty, and they should be helped to get out of this ordeal."

Diaa Bin Saeed said: "You have always been hesitating that our cause is with the Iranian regime and that we are with the poor and oppressed Iranian people and with the Ahwaz Arabs, so why do we now see the language of healing the spread of Corona in their country, is it not necessary for us to pray for them to get out of this ordeal ...".

In return, Qataris questioned double standards in Gargash's tweets.

In response to the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs tweet, Dr. Al Yazidi said: "Glory to humanitarian attitudes only with Iran, while Qatar is besieged because of its relations with Iran."

For his part, Saudi Prince Abdul Rahman bin Musaed said: "The situation in Iran is catastrophic and in such situations it does not occur to the mind of those who have it, even if a little bit of humanity is any political disagreement or even hostility. Humanity is all an enemy of this epidemic ... God healed the injured everywhere and revealed His servants this affliction. "

Iran
The Iranian Ministry of Health announced that the number of people infected with the Coronavirus has increased to 17,361, while the number of dead has reached 1135.

On Wednesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani confirmed that the government adopted transparency in its approach to the virus and was doing everything it could to secure food and health needs for all.

Despite the many calls to stay in the homes, the commitment rate appears weak in some areas, especially on the road that connects the city of Tehran to Qom, where significant traffic jams have been seen today.

The head of the Medical Organization in Iran said that the number of injured people was higher than announced, because many of them had not been examined, and had not committed to quarantine inside their homes.
